Ok, the results are in, even though I have never in my life played D&D, there certainly is hope, heh:

I Am A: Lawful Good Elf Ranger Mage

Alignment:
Lawful Good characters are the epitome of all that is just and good. They believe in order and governments that work for the benefit of all, and generally do not mind doing direct work to further their beliefs.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Secondary Class:
Mages harness the magical energies for their own use. Spells, spell books, and long hours in the library are their loves. While often not physically strong, their mental talents can make up for this.

Deity:
Mielikki is the Neutral Good goddess of the forest and autumn. She is also known as the Lady of the Forest, and is the Patron of Rangers. Her followers are devoted to nature, and believe in the positive and outreaching elements of it. They use light armor, and a variety of weapons suitable for hunting, which they are quite skilled at. Mielikki's symbol is a unicorn head.

So the rumour of the video iPod is finally true, I have been drooling over this for the past hour. Perhaps I can convince my wife why I need another expensive toy.

iTunes 6. Music. Podcasts. Music videos. TV shows. How cool is that? I will definitely be checking this out when I get home this evening. As well as watching Mr. Jobs' presentation of these fine products.

World of Warcraft Spyware

I knew about this previously, but thought I would point it out nonetheless. I do think they should approach this differently, but others will argue that they are not storing your personal info, just comparing hashes. So you can look at it both ways.

Blizzard is looking for more than just your $15/month.

A very nice article involving Ruby and the Pcap library. The end result is an AIM sniffer.

Pretty neat stuff from the looks of it.

So I find this today:

This site gives instructions for "unlocking" the Linksys "Vonage" PAP2 units. You can get these units at "Staples" for free after the mail in rebate. Find out how to use these units with other services.

Pretty cool, but how is it useful?

Here is one, I am still waiting to get the pics back from the photographer, this one was taken by one of our friends daughters:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

The editing was done by your truly using my l33t photoshop skills (well Picasa did most of it lol). If I ever get off my lazy butt and get my webserver running again, I will eventually make a website with all of our photos in it. Perhaps maybe this weekend... :)

What a day!

Coming to you live from a hotel room in Asheville, NC....

Well we did it! I am now a married man. I am so happy. I was nervous that I was going to start crying at some point through the ceremony, but I made it through it. I love Christy with all my heart and soul, no person has ever had the effect on me in life that she has. The whole wedding was just picture perfect, I walked into the back of the place where we were getting married and just could not believe my eyes. Everything looked amazing. All of our hard work had finally paid off. God truly blessed both of us on this wonderful day. Christy was just absolutely beautiful. That is the most beautiful I have ever seen her. I can't wait to get the pictures back and start posting them. I am absoulutely content with the way things went today. I am so happy right now.

Our evening here has been just absolutely wonderful. We started out by getting checked into the hotel room and then proceeded to search for a place to eat. We settled on a place called Bonefish Grill I highly recommend it to anyone that likes seafood. This place was just absolutely fabulous, we were very impressed with it.

We then proceeded over to Barnes and Noble (kind of a special place for us, we met there) and hung out there for a while. I bought Christy a body pillow that she has been wanting forever from a mattress shop next door, then we took a ride into downtown Asheville, this is such a cultured town. There were sounds of live music on the street corners and people playing chess outside a public park in the center of the city. Very neat place to visit.

Tommorow we will be heading here I am looking forward to a lot of rest and relaxation with my new wife.

As I reflect on the events of today, it was a very special day. I had my family there as well as hers. We had our friends and co-workers. This day has just fell together in every way possible. I will remember this day in detail for the rest of our lives....

What a beautiful blessed day.

I normally don't do these silly tests, admittedly I do find some of them amusing, but this one kind of shocked me:

The Mad Scientist
You scored 0% fantasy-dweller, 85% technological, 9% subculture-snob, and 32% poindexterish!

You're very intelligent (or at least you think you are, and we all know
that's much more important than actually posessing said trait) and you
are obsessed with technology.

My advice to you: invent a virtual reality prostitute program. It's all
the fun of paying for sex, and none of the STDs! I'll be expecting
royalties for this, but out of all sixteen categories, I have faith
that you'll be the one to make this dream of mine a reality. Good luck!

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 0% on fantasy-dweller

You scored higher than 99% on technological

Those of you that know me personally undoubtedly know that this is just not true!

I am now proceeding to WoW to get plagued. Please see this link to see what I am talking about. That is all.

Well my attempt to sleep a full night last night failed, I slept pretty good until about 0100 and then was wide awake till about 0430 or so. All I remember after that was waking up to the sound of Christy's alarm clock.

My first full day back at work. So far I am doing real well. Really really tired, but I will make it nonetheless. It will be nice to have a week of normalness ahead of me, I didn't mind working nights, but it got to be a drag after a while.

September 18th, 2005

So I absolutely did jack shit today. I was supposed to attend the homecoming at my Mom's church, but I just didn't feel up to it. I think I upset her, I hope I didn't. Tommorow will be interesting. It will be my first time back on days in over a month and a half, I hope I can sleep well tonight. I was sleeping ok until about 3AM this morning, then I got up and wrote a little entry on here lol. I ended up going back to bed about 0530 and couldn't sleep, so up I was at 0645 heading to Wal-Mart to get some breakfast items.

Breakfast was good, I made some scrambled eggs, biscuits, and some brown sugar cured bacon. Christy got some homemade jam from her friend Jonathan's Mom, it was absolutely delicious.

So my accomplishments today have been absolutely nothing. Looking forward to this week and to our wedding. And a much needed vacation after that!!!!!
I swear night shift will be the death of me. I was sleeping pretty good in bed and then I just woke up with a splitting headache. I am just thankful it is over for me for now anyhow.

Man.... 6 days before my wedding. I still can't believe I am gonna be a married man next Saturday and bear the title of "husband". I couldn't ask for a better woman though, Christy hon, if you read this, and I know you probably will, I love you dearly with all my heart and I can't wait to be joined together with you. I never thought I would see the day that I got married, not because I didn't want to, just thought I would never have the oppurtunity. That changed when I met Christy in December of '03. We have pretty much been together since that time, it just seemed to work since day 1. Sure, we had our fights and almost broke up more than once, but throughout the whole process we learned to take the good with the bad and found out there was more good in this relationship than ever will be bad. I am just really thankful that I have the woman of my dreams.....

I get to go to my Mom's church today. I have mixed feelings, this is a church where the pastor wouldn't marry us because Christy was previously married. I never really did like this church anyhow, but hey it's for my Mom, so I'm doing it to make her happy. Besides, there will be lots of food to eat after the service, and I like to eat!!!! I need to get back to god anyhow, I haven't attended church but once ever since I started nights. I go up and down with it. I'll save my feelings for that in a future entry.

But here is the real question, Will I hit level 40 with my WoW character before the end of October!!!???? lol, life will turn somewhat back to normal after our Nortel stuff is turned up, I am so thankful I am going back to days as of tommorow. I will also miss the entire cutover, but that is OK, I've been through many before. I look back on how much has changed in my job over the last 5 years and there has been a lot that happened. Fortunately, I made it through 2 rounds of layoffs, I hope I never see another one, or worse, become one of it's victims.

So that is my 3 AM rambling for today. I am finding this to be a good spot to catalog my thoughts(well duh) lol. Till next time....

September 17th, 2005

So my fiance(soon to be wife, one week from today!!!!) rents this series called Lost from our local Blockbuster. I was up to the wee hours this morning, my night shift groove hasn't left me yet. So we decide to go get some breakfast and come back and start watching this.

All I can say is 3 thumbs up ten times over. This is undoubtedly the best TV series I think I have ever watched. I got through the first disc today only to find myself craving it more, so I returned what copies we had rented and went to Best Buy and bought the complete first season. Couldn't beat the price either, $39.99 for 7 DVD's worth of video goodness. (It was on sale, and me being the cheap bastard I am, this looked even more attractive to me hehe)

My darling Christy is out with some of her friends and my Mom finalizing some stuff for the wedding, so now, I have to figure out what to do with the rest of my evening. Hmmm, do I play WoW, watch the UT/Florida game, or continue watching Lost? I ended up in front of my computer here, so I assume I will be doing something PC related.... No surprise there!!!!

For those of you that have never heard of lost, here is a link to the official website: http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/

Ok first off, let me start by saying FEMA is definitely on my shitlist. Admittedly at first when I started looking and assessing this whole situation I had thought the government was doing everything they possibly could to help people. It seems as though I was wrong. This is America and yet we are seeing scenes that rival that of third world countries? Where the hell is the accountability? Early Sunday morning I was watching meet the press with Tim Russert on NBC. You can view the transcripts here

After watching this I could not believe what I had heard when they were interviewing these people. And they are justified for every feeling that they have.

At this point I think the best I can do is offer my continued prayers for the people devastated by this awful tragedy. It truly breaks my heart to no end to see the images in print, on the web, or TV of people losing what they knew as their life. Some of those permanently. I can't even begin to imagine what these people are going through.

The weeks and months to come are completely unpredictable.

A blog is born...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So my friend Monty tells me about this "blogging" service, admittedly, I never really understood the point of blogs, but hey I figured I would give it a shot and maybe make some new friends in the process.

A little about me...

Name is Stephen(duh hence the title lol), I am 30 years old and live in Johnson City, TN

I am a switch technician for a well known wireless carrier and maintain/manage the wireless infrastructure for this area. In short, I'm similar to the Verizon wireless "Can you hear me now?" guy (although that is not who I work for hehe). More or less my dream job, but like every other job has its ups and downs.

My darling Christy. What a wonderful woman, what more can I say, I love her more than I ever thought I could possibly love another human being. So much we are getting married in less than 3 weeks time. What a stressful time for both of us, more so her than me. Look for photos soon, if I can ever get off my ass and hook my scanner up, I am so lazy, hence the reason I don't maintain a blog, perhaps it is because of this

So until next time.... I will probably post more as the night goes on

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of New Orleans and affected areas. I never thought I would see such devastation on our soil(besides Sep 11th anyhow) Truly a tragedy in every scope.
